This was the first assassination attempt against a member of the Saudi royal family since intense crush al-Qaeda militants last eight years following the September 11 attacks in the United States. Prince Muhammad bin Nayef is the son of the Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef.
As reported to the Saudi News Agency (SPA), Prince Muhammad was a meeting with the people who congratulated me on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in Jeddah on Thursday (27 / 8), when a man detonated explosives he was carrying.
The man was a fugitive guerrillas who insist allowed to meet with the Prince is to announce that he will surrender to the government. The government has not announced the identity of the perpetrator.
Television stations owned by Saudi Arabia, Al-Arabiya, showing pictures of Prince Muhammad, who apparently suffered minor injuries were met with King Abdullah after the event.
